We are delighted to announce that Shinon's S-MAX series photovoltaic modules
2023.10.07We are delighted to announce that Shinon's S-MAX series photovoltaic modules have successfully passed a rigorous 45mm hail impact test, demonstrating outstanding performance. Here is a summary of this information:
Testing Standards and Methods: In accordance with the IEC 61215 series standards, the test involved using an aerodynamic launch device to simulate hailstones with a diameter of 45mm, created artificially to replicate natural hail conditions. These artificial hailstones were launched at a constant speed of 30.7 meters per second to impact the glass surface of the photovoltaic modules. This test effectively simulates hail impact in adverse weather conditions.
Test Results: Shinon's S-MAX series photovoltaic modules have passed the hail impact test, showcasing their robust durability in extreme hailstorm conditions. The modules exhibited no significant external defects, successfully passed insulation and wet leakage current tests, and experienced only a minor power degradation of approximately 0.2%.
Performance Enhancement: Compared to the standard test using 25mm hailstones, the S-MAX series modules were subjected to larger, heavier 45mm hailstones traveling at higher speeds. This demonstrated that the modules have significantly improved overall resistance to dynamic hail impact, approximately ten times higher than standard tests.
